This process is open to the public through committee recruitment, and public review of committee recommendations and selection of materials.     9-12 ELA Committee Flyer

    A committee has formed to recommend a new curriculum for 9-12 ELA for implementation during the 2024-2025 school year.


    Committee members will be asked to examine and make recommendations for a new 9-12 ELA resource for adoption to support teachers and students in their ability to meet or exceed grade-level proficiency targets.


    Deer Valley Unified School District will show preference for materials that strongly align with the 2016 Arizona ELA Standards. Our goal is to identify products that best support curricular needs in both digital platforms and in-person classrooms.


    Membership was extended to 9-12 grade campus administrators, teachers, as well as DVEA and IS&T representatives. This committee also consists of parents of grade 9-12 children and community members who live within the DVUSD boundaries. Committee selection emphasizes representation from a variety of school configurations, regions, and grade levels. The committee is no longer accepting new members, as the work of selecting new curriculum materials has already begun.

2024-25 Mandarin K-8 Curriculum Adoption Committee

    • Mandarin DLI Adoption

      The DVUSD Mandarin Curriculum Adoption Committee will recommend new Mandarin Language Arts curricular materials that support language acquisition and proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for K-8 Dual Language Immersion students.


      The Mandarin Curriculum Adoption Committee consists of Mandarin teachers, a Gen. Ed teacher, administrators, an IS&T representative, parents, and community members. This committee is no longer accepting new members, as our work has begun on curriculum review.
